Slow Medium
Extends wet-in-wet blending time and is designed to be used in conjunction with a water sprayer. It will tack up quite quickly but is very easily made workable again with the water sprayer. It is preferable to use a water sprayer to extend blending time, rather than adding more medium because if too much medium is added the paint will become tacky.

Fast Medium
A low viscosity medium used for thin fast drying layering techniques. It can also be used on its own to seal and reinforce a paint layer in preparation for scratch back, glazing or varnishing. It also returns the Atelier Interactive to a more conventional acrylic.

Unlocking Formula
Atelier’s Unlocking Formula has been specifically designed to help you control the drying of Atelier Interactive. It allows you to keep your acrylic paint wet for as long as you need. Mix the ‘Unlocking Formula’ into your paint with either a brush or an atomiser spray. This ‘Formula’ will keep your paint wet, it will also re-wet or re-open recently dried paint. Once the paint is re-opened, new paint can be blended back in, existing paint edges can be feathered or whole sections can be removed with a rag to reveal under layers.

Fine Mist Water Sprayer
A specifically designed sprayer which produces a controlled fine mist intended to keep Atelier Interactive workable for as long as desired. Ideal for wet-in-wet techniques.

Holbein Artists' Granulating Watercolours are made with at least two different pigments that gently granulate and create beautiful textures and colour-blend effects. These effects can be controlled by the amount of water added as well as the type of painting surface, with rough papers accentuating the granulation.A European-style transparent watercolour, Holbein watercolour preserves the brush handling qualities inherent in traditional Japanese watercolour techniques.

They are produced without ox-gall, animal by-products or other dispersing agents, which permits greater colour density and brush control.The range has a consistent creamy texture that remains smooth when dry without cracking, crumbling, chipping or moulding in the palette. Colours can be rewetted and used like a pan colour - simply fill the wells of a suitable palette with the desired colour selection, allow it to dry, and then wet the colour when needed.

This range consists of seventy-five carefully crafted colors, all made with Walnut Oil apart from a Fast-drying White, which contains an alkyd resin, and a Titanium White which uses Sunflower Oil.

Most modern paintmakers use Linseed Oil as a binder for their oil paints, occasionally making use of non-yellowing oils such as Safflower or Poppyseed oil for whites and pale colors. M. Graham Artists’ Oil Paints are made with Walnut Oil, a clear, free-flowing, slow-drying and non-yellowing oil which was used extensively by the artists of the European Renaissance. The pure American Walnut Oil used by M. Graham dries to a clear film which will not yellow, allowing the true color of the pigments to shine through.

These excellent quality oil paints can be mixed with any other oil paints and mediums (even those that contain alkyd resins), and are all solvent-free. They flow more freely from the tube than most artist oils, and remain wet for longer.

This Roman Szmal Aquarius set has been made with watercolourist Pasqualino Fracasso and contains 24 Aquarius full pans.

Aquarius is a range of mostly single pigment watercolours made by Roman Szmal. Each colour is made with high-quality gum arabic and glycerin, linden honey, distilled water and pure pigments. Every pan is hand filled and labelled with watercolour paper.

This set includes not only colours made from natural, earth pigments, such as 120 Italian Burnt Sienna, 239 Caput Mortuum or 131 Van Dyck Brown, but also very intense, luminous colours, such as 333 Quinacridone Pink, 316 Pyrrole Orange or 207 Hansa Yellow Deep.

Holbein Acrylic Gouache is an opaque and highly-pigmented paint which dries to a velvety matte finish. In terms of handling and mixing, it behaves like traditional Gum Arabic gouache, but because it is made with an acrylic resin binder, it is water-resistant once dry.

It dries quickly and with minimal colour shift; what you see wet is what you get once the paint has dried. Holbein Acrylic Gouache does not have the same fragile surface as traditional gouache made with Gum Arabic because the acrylic paint film is more flexible. It can be mixed with other acrylic or traditional gouaches, as well as with watercolours.

Unison pastels are the creation of artist John Hersey. From a converted coach house in Northumberland, England, John and a small band of artisans lovingly make Unison pastels by hand, cutting no corners, accepting no compromise. They make small batches of 100 to 200 pastels at a time. Each stick is hand rolled and allowed to air dry. This produces a soft pastel which is eager to embrace the tooth of your drawing paper. There is a richness, a smoothness and an intensity you will find nowhere else.

John Hersey developed Unison's colour scheme in unified cycles of 18 colours. He observed from nature that a single colour takes on endless variations of hue depending on the quality of light that strikes it. After 15 years of experimentation, his pastels reflect the true nature of colour. They have a colour scheme that flows from nature itself, seducing the eye with its power.
