About the Subaru Impreza WRC 2001
Soon after the adoption of the new regulations for the World Rally Championships in 1997, Subaru boldly entered their Impreza WRC. That well-balanced machine was equipped with a powerful horizontally opposed 4 cylinder turbo engine, and secured that year's Manufacturers Title. In the following years, various improvements were made to the car in accordance with changes in the production model. The 2001 Impreza adopted a four-door sedan body and first showed itself at the season opener, the Monte Carlo Rally. The unique appearance of the car was highlighted by small compound headlights, spoiler attached to the extreme rear and blister-style fenders. The engine underwent extensive tuning in an effort to boost responsiveness, and major progress was made in regards to electronic control of the semi-automatic transmission and front, center, and rear differential gearing. Subaru's ace driver, Richard Burns, was accompanied by Markko Martin, Petter Solberg, and Toshihiro Arai.

About the North American P-51B Mustang
The Allison engine powered P-51A Apache, was derived from the original RAF Mustang 1 ground attack and photo reconnaissance aircraft. Long before anyone had even heard of a Mustang, the plan to put a Rolls Royce Merlin engine into the airframe had started. The Merlin was powering some of the best warplanes in England; the Hurricane, Spitfire and the Avro Lancaster bomber. To develop a new engine for the P-51 would take considerable time, which the allies did not have.
In September 1940, the Packard Motor Company of the U.S. began license production of the Merlin V-1650-1 engine in Detroit, Michigan. With a new supercharger drive, a new V-1650-3 was mated to the first P-51B. Both the U.S. and England started the Merlin engine modification idea almost simultaneously. 10 airframes were modified in the U.S. with the Merlin and these became the basis for the most successful fighter series of the war.
Flying for the first time on 30 November 1942, the XP-51B was soon modified with a larger coolant radiator scoop, which actually increased its top speed by 50mph and gave it a higher ceiling by 10,000 ft. The addition of an 85 gallon fuel tank behind the seat increased the P-51B's already excellent range, and it could now escort the bombers all the way to the target and back. P-51B Mustangs began arriving in England in September 1943 with the first Mustangs going to the 3354th fighter group at Boxted, England, and ended the war with the most air to air victories. A total of 3788 P-51B's were produced.

When building a scale model, cotton swabs are often used with painting and applying decals. However, cotton swabs bought from supermarkets usually have loosely spun tips and quickly lose shape. These Craft Cotton Swabs have tightly spun cotton tips and are easy to use, making them much better suited for hobby use.
• These are industrial strength cotton swabs, and compared with those found in supermarkets, they do not fray as easily when wet or dipped in solvents, resulting in less wastage.
• These swabs are great for applying decals and panel lining onto model surfaces.
• Creating fine details and weathering on small areas becomes a breeze.
• You can also use the swabs effectively for applying any of the Weathering Master Set color schemes, such as realistic rust stains, to your model.
About Douglas A-1H Skyraider U.S. Navy
During 1943 the U.S. Bureau of Aeronautics considered to combine the tasks of torpedo bomber and dive-bomber into one. Several aircraft manufacturers, such as Douglas and Martin, were requested to develop a large, single-seat attack aircraft. According to the requirement, Douglas Skyraider, was developed by Douglas Aircraft Company, Inc.
The development was started in early July 1944, and all night efforts of engineers made the first prototype's first flight possible already on March 18, 1945. Despite the short period of the development, flight trials proved the airframe's flight characteristics satisfactory and the aircraft was rated very highly. In May 1945 a letter of intent for 598 production was signed. The name "Skyraider" was officially approved for the aircraft in February of the following year, and the distribution to units was started at the end of the same year. The Skyraider was powered by Wright R3350 radial engine yielding 2,800 horse power and equipped with three large dive brakes on the fuselage.
The Skyraider had a number of types, from the AD-1 to AD-7, recording grand total number of production of more than 3,000. Among them, AD-6 was the most produced variant. The AD designation for the Skyraider was changed in 1962, and the AD-6 became the A-1H. Noted for its durability and a large capacity for external stores, the Skyraider was well liked by its pilots and crewmen.
The later models of the Pzkpw IV series have become the best known and
the most fequently modelled variants. These were the tanks that took
part in all the bit tank battles of World War II and formed the
backbone of Hitlers Panzer divisions.

These cans of spray paint are extremely useful for painting large surfaces. The paint is a synthetic lacquer that cures in a short period of time. Each can contains 100ml of paint, which is enough to fully cover 2 or 3, 1/24 scale sized car bodies.
Tamiya spray paints are not affected by acrylic or enamel paints. Therefore following the painting of the entire assembly, details can be added or picked out using enamel and/or acrylic paints.
Carbon weave decals are a great way to enhance your models level of realism. Many of Tamiya’s car and motorcycle subjects have parts that depict raw carbon parts, such as winglets, spoilers, and body panels. With Tamiya carbon fiber decal sheets, you can easily replicate these parts on your model with relative ease. Simply cut to the size and shape of the section that you want to cover, and apply. When used in conjunction with Tamiya MARK FIT and MARK FIT STRONG (Tamiya’s decal setting solution solvents), forming the decal sheet to curved surfaces make application even easier.
• Sheet dimension: 130mm x 190mm x1.
• Sheet features no pre-marked shapes and can be cut to desired shape and size.
• Great for use on static models of bikes, cars and more from 1/6 to 1/24 scale.

The motorcycle, along with the automobile, has played a big role in
transporting humans from place to place for many years. Man has always
been able to adapt his tools for specific needs, and as the motorcycle
became more and more a sport, or leisure transportation vehicle, it has
been designed for more specific purposes. The off road, touring,
motocross and speed bikes as well as the basic transportation
motorcycle can be seen in most countries, but America seems to have a
certain styling all its own. This so called "Chopper style" came about
during the mid 1960's from the many modified Harley's done by members
of the many motorcycle clubs around the country. There are many long
straight stretches of good, high speed roadways in America, and to sit
back comfortably, with feet resting on forward pedals and sitting on a
very relaxing saddle, brought about these modifications. The Yamaha
Company of Japan is well known for quality bikes around the world, and
they have been making bikes for specific areas for years.
The Yamaha XS650 Special released in 1978 had the American look, and
since then this company has marketed bikes with similar styling. The
XV1000 Virago is their latest, large bore, American styled motorcycle
and sure to become popular. Its front wheel caster angle of 32 degrees
provides an extended wheel base of 1525mm, making its straight running
ability superb. The wide, pull back type of handle bars and the forward
placed foot rests, allow the rider to sit up as if he was on a horse. A
separate looking, loose cushion seat is almost like sitting on a sofa,
and it is positioned at a height of only 715mm. The 70hp 981cc twin
cylinder is in the "V" format and transmits its power via an enclosed
drive shaft for quiet, maintenance free operation. The bike comes with
much chrome and lots of gold plating, but it is done in such a manner
that the bike does not look gaudy. It is a luxurious and comfortable
riding motorcycle, designed for the American bike enthusiast, but sure
to be well received throughout the globe. The Virago seems to have the
custom made finish and individual 60's styling that characterizes the
true "Chopper" of America.
