In 1985 members of Duran Duran took a hiatus from their hectic
career to produce two very different bands and albums, the first
being Arcadia comprised of Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes and Roger
Taylor, the second being the guitar driven rock of the Power
Station with John and Andy Taylor (along with Robert Palmer and
Tony Thompson ). Arcadia, created between the Arena and Notorious
albums, it was originally going to be a project of "remakes" much
like Duran Duran's 1996 release Thank You. What it became was a
much more eloquent version of Duranie synth pop. This album gained
recognition from the sheer Duran connection, however, it featured
some of the most stylishly written pop tunes and produced four
singles. EMI. 1998.
