Angelina Jolie directs and produces
Unbroken, an epic drama that follows the incredible life of Olympian and war hero Louis "Louie" Zamperini who, along with two other crewmen, survived in a raft for 47 days after a near-fatal plane crash in WWII - only to be caught by the Japanese navy and sent to a prisoner-of-war camp.
Adapted from Laura Hillenbrand's enormously popular book, Unbroken brings to the big screen Zamperini's unbelievable and inspiring true story about the resilient power of the human spirit.

Great movie - The book is even better

This is a great movie about the life of Louis Zamperini, an American olympian and war hero, and what he went through during World War 2. It is a true story based on his autobiography Unbroken by Lauren Hillenbrand. I read another book of his, titled "Triumph: The Extraordinary Life and Faith of Louis Zamperini" and found that the book is slightly better than the movie. In the book he gives honor to God, where in the movie they cut faith out of the story. But still a great movie that can also be viewed by your kids.
