The story is set in England after Queen Victoria has passed the
throne to her son, Edward VII. Edmund Park has inherited his own
throne of sorts (a glass factory) after his father's death. After a
series of mishaps and disruptions from labor unions, the business
that Edmund's father built is about to come crashing down around
him. Meanwhile, a beautiful young woman named Audrey stumbles onto
the Park Estate one night. It is learned that she has run away from
a school for orphaned girls called Evington Hall and its violent
headmistress. As Audrey discovers the truth about her family and
her fortunes start to rise, Edmund's continue to fall. It is a
story that puts a new twist on the roles of women and men in
Victorian society as well as a celebration of the possibilities
that came to be in that time in England. But above all, it is the
story of the uncontainable power of true love between a man and a
woman who are each other's perfect match in every way.
