Double feature starring Basil Rathbone as detective Sherlock
Holmes. In 'Sherlock Holmes and the Scarlet Claw (1944), strange
deaths and rumours of a mysterious phantom bring Holmes and Watson
(Nigel Bruce) to a small village in Canada to solve yet another
mystery. In 'Sherlock Holmes and the House of Fear' (1945), seven
rich men retire to a Scottish castle and promptly begin to die in
violent fashion. Each death is preceded by the delivery of orange
pips to the next target. As all the likely victims are heavily
insured, Holmes is asked by the insurance companies to investigate.
