This text looks at the indigenous painting traditions found on
ancestral shrines in Yoruba divinities known as Orisa, a devotional
activity which is often enacted in honour and veneration of
departed ancestors for healing, empowerment and transformation. It
examines 16 shrine paintings found in both rural and urban centres.
