This book investigates the narrated worlds of fantastic film and
the methods of their narrative mediation. This includes instable
and ambiguous perspectives of perception, abandonment and
disintegration of spatial-temporal continuity, instances of
destabilized narrators, blending of the narrative levels as well as
categories of figure, space and the event of crossing borders of
the genre in the staging of virtual media realities in the
fantastic film. The book refers to examples of the early years of
fictional film up to the present.
