The official tie-in Shooting Script of the new film from the Oscar-winning A Beautiful Mind team: a Depression-era true-life boxing drama starring Russell Crowe and Renee Zellweger. A new Russell Crowe movie is always an event. Whatever Renee Zellweger does next is worth watching. In Cinderella Man they come together under the direction of Ron Howard in a script co-written by Akiva Goldsman, a pairing that produced A Beautiful Mind (also with Russell Crowe) and is currently making The Da Vinci Code. Also in the cast is Paul (Sideways) Giamatti. Cinderella Man is the true story of James Braddock, a working-class Irish-American, born in Hell's Kitchen, New York City, who became heavyweight boxing champion in 1935 at the height of the Depression. He was the ten-to-one outsider and had only recently returned to the ring after four years out with a broken hand. It was Damon Runyon who first called him 'The Cinderella Man'. Due in the UK in September 2005, Cinderella Man is a major release and a clear Oscar contender. This Shooting Script is the official tie-in and contains the usual extras: * Introductions from director Ron Howard, producer Brian Grazer * Fascinating historical section on Jim Braddock, with archival * The complete Shooting Script * 16 pages of stills * Cast and crew credits
