The storyline was strong enough to keep me engaged to the end but i did struggle with the romantic relationship between Rosalind and Devon. It just didn't seem to gel for me. Similarly, the discontent that suddenly seemed to rear its head in Rosalind's loyal and longstanding maid. Hmmm! There are some interesting characters and some great insights into the mores and prejudices evident in these times. The repercussions for family members being quite shocking. I hadn't read any of the others in the series, but the ending of this one was intriguing enough that I think I may consider signing up for the next one in the series.
