This book is more than just a few recipes bundled together by some celebrity chef with a TV show. The first hundred pages of this book are devoted to the history of thai food and cooking. About another fifty pages describe the ingredients and techniques typically found in thai cooking. The recipes and accompanying photographs are truly inspiring and should send you rushing to your nearest speciality store to buy the necessary ingredients. Allthough there are a good few recipes that contain ingredients not available in South Africa, most recipes are easy to follow and substitute ingredients are suggested in some instances. David Thompson has succeede in using his fast knowledge and experience in thai cooking to compile the "bible" on thai cooking. Definitely the only book that you'll need if you are interested in this type of food!
