Denzel Washington pulls out all the stops in this well-thought-out action suspense drama directed by Tony Scott.
A fully-laden ferry blows up in mid-harbour, killing many people. Investigating possible sabotage, special agent Doug Carlin (Denzel Washington) discovers the badly burned (and de-fingered!) body of a young woman, whom he learns to be one Claire Kuchever (Paula Patton) – and his suspicions are aroused when he determines the time of her death to be several hours before the explosion took place!
Recruited by FBI agent Pryzwarra (a chubby Val Kilmer), Doug is shown top-secret sophisticated satellite observation equipment that enables one to look in on any place on Earth…though the picture is always a constant four days and six hours in the past, due to the complexity of the continuous 3D graphic computations. The team can therefore get to see both the killer and how his crimes were committed. To everybody’s surprise, Doug proves the programme to be interactive! Using this technology and now having the advantage of hindsight knowledge, can Doug somehow prevent the murder…and the bomb’s being placed on the ferry?
Sci-fi thriller starring Denzel Washington. When a ferry filled
with crewmen from the USS Nimitz and their families is blown up in
New Orleans, Federal Agent Doug Carlin (Washington) is brought in
to help with the investigation. He becomes attached to an
experimental FBI surveillance unit that uses spacefolding
technology to look back a little over four days into the past.
While tracking down the bomber Carlin gets an idea in his head:
could they use the device to actually travel back in time and not
only prevent the bombing but also the murder of a local woman whose
truck was used in the atrocity?
