This television mini-series is an action-packed heist tale, played out over 8 episodes. It begins straight-away with a bank robbery, but things don't go according to plan and the robbers have to take refuge inside the bank and it becomes a full-blown hostage situation.
The situation becomes a tense and thrilling affair as the lead hostage negotiator engages with the ringleader of the bank robbers, but twist and turns abound and the whole mini-series becomes an exciting thrill ride as you find yourself maybe even starting to sympathise with the bad guys, especially as John Legiuzamo's character, Mr. Wolf, makes it clear that he's not "that" bad actually.
The performances from the two main actors, with Donnie Wahlberg playing the hostage negotiator, are spot on and add to the "cops and robbers" feel of the storyline. Unfortunately, a few of the supporting performances are not up to scratch. This still does not detract from the enjoyment of the whole story though, and it all leads to an exciting climax, almost in the vein of Heat. (4 out of 5, by Carlisle Johnson)
"Mr. Wolf" is an Iraqi war veteran who leads his ex-platoon on a daring bank heist. But when the robbery goes tragically wrong the one-time soldier has no choice but to take hostages.
Going head-to-head with Mr. Wolf is Captain Horst Cali, a no-nonsense hostage negotiator who refuses to back down.
What follows is a thrilling match of wits and guts between two men who both have something to prove - and everything to lose.
