Review This Product

Ecellent for refrencing classic designs and carving

Thu, 23 Jan 2020 | Review by: Sternberg C.

I will start off by saying this book is not meant for any beginner carver - the instructions and how-to steps to make some of the classical moldings are very sparse. However intermediate and advanced carvers can easily go trough and practice the classical designs shown in the book. The best feature of this book is showing the classical designs, i.e. Greek and Roman layouts (side decorations, pillar decorations, rosettes etc. with some instructions and photos of how to replicate them in your wood carving or wood work. A very great reference book for making these designs, since you don't see them much on furniture these days.
