George Sanders stars in this 1940s spy thriller. Newspaper reporter Michael Gordon (Sanders) is in Damascus during World War II when one of his colleagues, who he has just tipped-off about a story, is killed. Despite the dangers involved, Gordon is determined to find out who is responsible and makes an ally in secret agent Yvonne Danesco (Viginia Bruce).
