A gallery of high-living lowlifes will stop at nothing to get their sweaty hands on a jewel-encrusted falcon. Detective Sam Spade wants to find out why - and who'll take the fall for his partner's murder.

An all-star cast (including Sydney Greenstreet, Mary Astor, Peter Lorre and Elisha Cook Jr.) joins Bogart in this crackling mystery masterwork written for the screen (from Dashiell Hammett's novel) and directed by John Huston.

In black & white.

Review This Product

A knockout!!!

Wed, 13 Nov 2013 | Review by: Njabulo P.

John Huston's "Maltese Falcon" is an awesome film! Period. I would give it 5 stars but then again I think that Billy Wilder's "Double Indemnity" is a much better movie so I couldn't possibly give it that rating. Even still, it's a highly enjoyable film. The humor comes in the most unexpected moments...Peter Lorre doesn't disappoint either ("Look what you did to my shirt"!) and of course Humphrey Bogart has/had that swagger that few actors had. He too has his brilliant moments ("What is your boyfriend getting at"?!). I highly recommend this one to anyone who is a fan of film-noir or cinema in general.
