Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany,
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series and the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. The play will receive its world premiere in London’s West End on July 30, 2016.
It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children. While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.
(Please note: This is the special script rehearsal edition, so it's written in a screenplay format and not a novelized format.)

Best SCRIPT Ever!

I did not expect a novel and prepared myself that it would be a script. Therefore this book was a fantastic read that I really enjoyed. A bit difficult to get into if you have never read a script, but as soon as you get over that your imagination takes flight and you can see in your mind what it looks like on stage.
Completely understand why this cannot work as a novel. By far much better than I expected and a book that should be on any shelf!

Badly written Fan Fiction

The format of the book was as expected, however the story itself was very disappointing. It's difficult to believe that J.K. Rowling had anything to do with this script. I hope this story does not become cannon to the original series which I have been a fan of for almost 2 decades.
