Two young sisters are haunted by the ghost of their dead mother in this paranormal horror from director Andrés Muschietti. On the day after their parents are killed, Victoria (Megan Charpentier) and Lilly (Isabelle Nélisse) disappear from their suburban home without a trace. Five years later, a man out walking in the woods discovers the now feral girls living in a rundown shack.
As the girls try to return to a normal life after being taken in by their uncle Lucas (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and his girlfriend Annabel (Jessica Chastain), chillingly ominous signs begin to convince the couple that, along with the girls, something else has come to stay.

I personally found the movie rather scary, with the special effects and eeriness similar to that of the Ring and Grudge. Not scary enough though to keep the avid Horror fan up at night, but definitely entertaining enough to keep them out of trouble for an hour and a half. The acting is decent and the story line, while probably not the most original, certainly held a creepy quality to it to make the movie worth watching.
