The Closer - Season 3 (DVD)

The third season of this highly entertaining series shows no sign of slowing down and remains intriguing and sardonically humorous, maybe even more so than previous seasons. The cases this season are more involving than ever, as evidenced on the final disc which has 4 magnificent episodes, strung together like one long narrative.

Kyra Sedgwick is still brilliant and her craving for sugar gets a most unwanted knock this season for "medical" reasons, and it's a real joy to see her squirm and try to keep her addiction at arm's length. The supporting characters get even more "exposure" this season, with Sgt. Gabriel making a decision which affects his standing and Lt.'s Provenza and Flynn becoming even more lovable and "un-neighbourly" to each other. Their chemistry together being one of the highlights of this show.

The final episode in itself is a double Christmas episode, and has one of the best storylines yet, and even features Brenda's parents, who are in fine comic form. Can't wait for the fourth season. (5 out of 5, by Carlisle Johnson)
