Publisher Review:
Howard Phillips Lovecraft (1890-1937) was a mildly successful
writer of short stories known as "pulp fiction." This was a
designation based on the inexpensive, pocket-sized magazines where
his stories appeared. These small magazines were published on cheap
paper known as "pulp." Today, only a few magazines that were
originally "pulps" remain, one of them being FATE magazine. Most of
those that survived are now full-size. Lovecraft was deeply
influenced by earlier and contemporary writers such as Ambrose
Bierce and Robert W. Chambers, who not only told a story, but
projected a mood. He eventually developed a style that featured a

Detailed artwork has a sepia tone and the dark teal borders enhance it perfectly. The colouring of the entire deck is brilliantly done, it looks like it is washed in the glow of candlelight as if you are reading in a dimly lit room. After working with it for a few weeks, I've found it to be a clear reader and accurate.
I’m unfamiliar with HP Lovecraft's writings (inspiration for this deck) nor do I feel I need to be in order to read with this deck. Explore the messages that arise from the depths of the subconscious rather than trying to draw correlations between the stories that inspired the artist.
The deck follows traditional RWS structure, with Justice at VIII and Strength at XI. The Minor Arcana suits are Wands, Chalices, Swords and Pentacles. The Court cards are King, Queen, Knight and Knave. Described by the author as, "A key to opening forsaken doors hidden in the furthest corners of the psyche."
