The aim of the "Dictionary of Astronomy" is to define the
terminology of astronomy, physics, optics, space science,
astronautics, and environmental science in such a way as to make
modern developments in astronomy comprehensible and simultaneouly
reveal their importance in the history of the subject.
As well as technical terms, this dictionary discusses famous
astronomers; planets; notable satellites; stars; constellations;
past and future space missions; and the instruments, methods, and
theories of astrology.
