Men in Black
Sat, 21 Jun 2014 | Review
by: Micky B
Sequels are seldom good news. Usually they are not as good as the original...though sometimes they turn out to be even better than the original – as in the case of, say, "Terminator 2". MEN IN BLACK 2 is almost unique in that it is every bit as good as the first film...without its being a case of "same-old-same-old!" Much of the new material is very funny indeed – notably the side-splitting behavior of some of the aliens! The story takes place five years after its predecessor; and Agent J (Will Smith) is now the top operative of MIB. However, something comes up that requires certain specialist knowledge that only former Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) possesses! Since K was memory-wiped at his own request at the end of the first film, he has gone back to civilian life and become the postmaster of a small American town. He is quite unaware of the fact that his post office staff workers are all aliens! It is therefore up to Agent J to deneutralise his former partner, and bring him back into MIB service once again. Yes, it IS well-worth seeing...even if you missed the original MIB picture.
