A chapter on electronic medical records follows. The safe and effective use of technologies is discussed. Medical applications of infrared imaging are included. Principles to consider when designing medical devices are discussed. The two parts consolidate material that supports two courses on technology development and management issues in health care institutions. It can be useful for anyone involved in design, development, or research, whether in industry, hospitals, government, or in universities and colleges. It is not intended to cover all topics in depth but rather to provide an overview of the topics and sources where additional information can be found.
