This action adventure sequel definitely underlines what it means to be a "spectacle". Big budget explosions and destruction with enough light-hearted humour and very little plot exposition, this one is bound to be a hit with the masses.

This time around, Sam, while off at college, becomes unwittingly targeted by the Decepticons, who want something he has (yet again). With the creakiest of plot devices now set in motion, so begins the adventure as the Autobots, who have stuck around on Earth to eliminate any leftover baddies, come to his rescue more than once and try to finish the battle once and for all.

On the plus side, there are many more robots involved, such as Devastator (a gargantuan who has to be seen to be believed), the twins (whom some might find offensive, although they are funny in an idiotic sort of way), and even a new baddie (I for one never knew there was anyone above Megatron on the foodchain). There are also much more action-packed scenes, (one involving an attack on an aircraft carrier, one at the beginning in Asia, and a no-holds-barred rumble in the... well... forest). The humour is much more scatalogical and near-raunchy, but it's enough to make you laugh.

But, alas, some of the acting is not up to par. Especially that of Megan Fox. Her "assets" seem to be the only reason she was yet again chosen to be in this movie, as her character serves no purpose except to attract the male-driven audience. She sure can pout with the best of 'em. Also, the storyline is quite absurd most of the time, with plotholes big enough to drive a transforming truck through. Most of the time you might be scratching your head wondering how things keep developing so easily for the characters, but don't bother, you're bound to give yourself a major headache trying to figure that out.

So sure, the plot is weak, but would anyone care? We're here to see giant robots pulverizing each other. And on that level, as pure mindless blockbuster entertainment, it delivers! (4 out of 5, by Carlisle Johnson)

The battle for Earth continues in this action-packed blockbuster from director Michael Bay and executive producer Steven Spielberg.

When college-bound Sam Witwicky learns the truth about the ancient origins of the Transformer robots, he must accept his destiny and join Optimus Prime and Bumblebee in their epic battle against the Decepticons, who have returned stronger than ever with a plan to destroy our world.

The movie in itself is pretty good but it is made better if you read the comic-book prequels to this (they help fill the plots-holes).

An excellent movie which lives up to a sequel. I am disappointed with the single disc offering however. A 2 disc version is available... but I have found only 2 places that are bringing in this 2 disc edition... Why is Loot not getting it? If so when? Because come 30th Novemebr (which is tomorrow) the 2 disc version will be available...

This is the best action movie of the year! Worth every cent. I thought it had a strong enough story line. The CGI is top class.
