Treasure seeking adventure with riddles and puzzles
Cotton Malone was searching the lost letters between Winston Churchill, the British Empire Prime Minister and Il Duce, Benito Mussolini. The Italian dictator was carrying the letters in his bag when he and his mistress were captured by the partisans who then executed them at Lake Como, Italy. A knight from the so-called Secreti organisation stole these letters at the execution from Malone. The Secreti was opposed to the Knights of St John's Hospitallers .
One of the Cardinals left Rome for Malta while the selection for the conclave was about to start. Cardinal Kastor Gallo searched for the lost documents dating back to Constantine the Great and his brother, Pollux, who was the interim head of St John's Hospitallers. He obtained the flash drive containing some cardinals’ wrongdoings against the teaching of Christ.
The election of the new Pope was in the balance, while the Secreti sought to destroy the documents which could re-write the history of the Church. The characters changed the sides for and against the agents of Magellan Billet.
I was on the edge of my seat as Cotton Malone was looking for the documents that were needed in Rome. Thank you, Steve Berry!
