contentious, figures: Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak.It explores a

strategies adopted to resist such representations, and the
questions of identity, nationalism, colonialism, feminism,
subaltern studies and the English language within the context of
Empire. Providing a critique of the paradoxes and conflicts which
appear in Spivak's work, the book offers a new approach to
postcolonial studies.
