Documentary that revisits the Boer War, a conflict for control of
South Africa that took place between 1899 and 1902. With an empire
that stretched over much of the globe, Victorian Britain was used
to dealing with uprisings - however, the Boer War proved a stern
test. The Boers pioneered a new form of guerilla warfare that
tested the resolve of British soldiers and strategists to the limit
and led to a re-evaluation of military tactics and the attention
paid to the wellbeing of soldiers.
