The
Fast & Furious movies just seem to be getting better and better. No longer merely focused on streetracing, these movies have expanded in scope ever since Vin Diesel returned to the franchise in the 4th movie. The adventure got even bigger with part 5 and the Rio heist plot, and now the whole team is back managing to outdo themselves yet again.
Agent Hobbs, played by The Rock, needs the help of Dom (Diesel), Brian (Walker) and their crew. They need to track down a deadly team of thieves who are themselves adept at fast driving. And once the movie has this whole cat-and-mouse plot in progress, it becomes a thrilling action-packed adventure. There's about a 15 minute section in the middle where things start to drag, but it all picks up again for the race to the climax!
The action scenes are spectacular, and while they may indeed be over-the-top and somewhat unbelievable, they still manage to be visceral and entertaining. And sure, there are moments where suspension of disbelief is required, but if you enjoyed the previous entries in the series, then you already know what to expect: this isn't pretending to be an Oscar-winning drama, this is pedal-to-the-medal all-out action! And if you think it's going to be impossible to top this, watch the teaser scene at the end credits sequence for a cliffhanger of note as everything gets teed up for part 7! (4 out of 5 by Carlisle Johnson)
Since Dom and Brian's Rio heist toppled a kingpin's empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe. But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete.
Meanwhile, agent Hobbs has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty. The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London.
Payment? Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again.
