Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not
used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad
quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are

The notion of surveillance has become increasingly more crucial in
public conversation as new tools of observation are obtained by
many different players. The traditional notion of "overseeing" is
being increasingly replaced by multi-level surveillance where many
different actors, at different levels of hierarchy, from the child
surveilling the parent to the state surveilling its citizens, are
entering the surveillance theater. This creates a unique
surveillance ecosystem where the individual is observed not only as
an analog flesh-and-blood body moving through real spaces such as a
shopping mall, but also tracked as a data point where the volume of
data is perpetually and permanently expanding as the digital life
story is inscribed in the digital spaces. The combined narrative of
the individual is now under surveillance. Modern Day Surveillance
Ecosystem and Impacts on Privacy navigates the reader through an
understanding of the self as a narrative element that is open for
observation and analysis. This book provides a broad-based and
theoretically grounded look at the overall processes of
surveillance in a global system. Covering topics including
commodity, loss of privacy, and big data, this text is essential
for researchers, government officials, policymakers, security
analysts, lawmakers, teachers, professors, graduate and
undergraduate students, practitioners, and academicians interested
in communication, technology, surveillance, privacy, and more.
This book brings together historical and ethnographic research from
Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Xinjiang, in order to explore how
individuals and communities work to create and maintain forms of
'culture' in contexts of ideological repression and erasure. Across
Inner Central Asia, in both China and the Soviet Union, while
ethnic culture was on one hand lauded and promoted, it was
simultaneously folklorized in the face of broader projects of
socialist modernity. How do local intellectuals, cultural
organizers, and performers work to negotiate their own forms and
understandings of cultural meaning within the institutions and
frameworks of a long twentieth century? How does scholarly
attention to cultural production, tradition, and performance help
to inform our understanding of (ethnic) nations not as given, but
as coming into being?

This book discusses ideas for stakeholders to develop strategies to
access and use financial products and services such as deposits,
loans, and fund transfer mechanism, insurance, payment services,
and intermediaries, distribution channels at economical prices in
order to cater to the needs of the poor and underprivileged people.
Financial inclusion ensures ease of access, availability, and usage
of the financial products and services to all the sections of the
society. The book will help in recognizing the role of financial
inclusion as one of the main drivers in reducing income inequality
and thus supporting sustainable economic growth of the countries,
especially of an emerging economy. The book provides conceptual and
practical ideas from the practitioners, best practices from the
experts, and empirical views from the researchers on the best
practices and how to mitigate the challenges and issues plaguing
the development of the financial inclusion.
Corporate Governance, Responsibility and Sustainability
investigates various dimensions of corporate governance issues in
key emerging economies such as China, India, Brazil, South Africa
and Russia. The book explores a number of issues in the areas of
corporate governance framework, market discipline and building an
efficient, competitive market.
Ananda Kiamsha Madelyn Leeke became a pioneer in the digital
universe twenty-seven years ago, when she logged in to the
LexisNexis research service as a first-year law student at Howard
University School of Law. She was immediately smitten with what the
World Wide Web could do. Later, while attending the UN Fourth World
Conference on Women in Beijing, China, in 1995, Leeke found herself
in an Internet cafe, where she experienced an interaction that
changed her life.
Over time, through interactions and conversations both online
and in-person, Leeke developed the concept of "digital sisterhood."
Embracing this revolutionary concept led to a complete career
reinvention that finally allowed her to embrace her enormous
creative spirit. She found in her digital sisters true "sheroes"
and virtual mentors. Her blogging and social media adventures
highlight the lessons she learned in the process, the reasons she
launched the Digital Sisterhood Network, and the experiences that
caused her to adopt what she terms the "fierce living"
commitments.
In her memoir, Leeke details her journey, sharing experiences
and insights helped her and her digital sisters use the Internet as
a self-discovery tool and identifying leadership archetypes that
shaped her role as a social media leader.
This unique text/reference discusses in depth the two integral
components of reconstructive surgery; fracture detection, and
reconstruction from broken bone fragments. In addition to
supporting its application-oriented viewpoint with detailed
coverage of theoretical issues, the work incorporates useful
algorithms and relevant concepts from both graph theory and
statistics. Topics and features: presents practical solutions for
virtual craniofacial reconstruction and computer-aided fracture
detection; discusses issues of image registration, object
reconstruction, combinatorial pattern matching, and detection of
salient points and regions in an image; investigates the concepts
of maximum-weight graph matching, maximum-cardinality
minimum-weight matching for a bipartite graph, determination of
minimum cut in a flow network, and construction of automorphs of a
cycle graph; examines the techniques of Markov random fields,
hierarchical Bayesian restoration, Gibbs sampling, and Bayesian
inference.
