Double bill of British dramas about football violence and hooliganism. 'The Football Factory' (2004) is based on the novel by John King. Tommy Johnson (Danny Dyer) is a bright but bored 30-year-old with a steady job and close-knit family who lives for the weekend life of casual sex, lager, drugs - and violence. Through him we meet three other males in his world: Billy Bright (Frank Harper), a right-wing fascist full of bitterness at a country that he perceives as having failed him; Zeberdee (Roland Manookian), a mouthy hooligan whose life revolves around crime and drugs; and Bill Farrell (Dudley Sutton), a 70-year-old war veteran who tries to enjoy every day to the limit. Shot in documentary style using a handheld camera, the film realistically captures the lure and potency of football violence. 'Arrivederci Millwall' (1990) follows a group of hardcore Millwall supporters as they travel to Bilbao in Spain for England's World Cup matches in 1982. Their rowdy behaviour soon leads them into trouble, and the violence escalates as Billy Jarvis (Kevin O'Donohoe) steals a gun to avenge his brother's death in the Falklands conflict.
Nick Love directs this big screen modern-day revamp of the classic British 1970s television series. Ray Winstone and pop star Plan B (aka Ben Drew) star as Regan and Carter, the iconic cop duo played by John Thaw and Dennis Waterman in the original version. When an armed robbery at a jewellery store causes Regan's investigations into a potential bank robbery to come to a standstill, he believes old enemy Francis Allen (Paul Anderson) is responsible.
However, having no evidence against him leaves the Flying Squad officer powerless to bring him in, but when Regan hears that Allen is now in business with a well known Serbian criminal, he becomes determined to catch the culprits whatever the cost.
Action starring Sean Bean. After returning from a tour of duty in Iraq, former Paratrooper Bryant (Bean) is appalled by what he sees in a country he no longer recognises. Determined to do something about it, he assembles a group of like-minded souls who resolve to restore the balance between right and wrong, good and evil, enforcing justice with a brutality to match that of the once unpunished wrongdoers.
Britcom starring Luke Treadaway as Dan, an aspiring journalist who decides to write an expose of the illicit in-car sexual activity known as 'dogging' in and around his hometown of Newcastle. Shedding his inhibitions in the name of research, Dan takes to the darkened corners of the city's car parks to get an inside view of the al fresco swinging scene. But things get complicated when he meets Laura (Kate Heppell) on the doggers' circuit.
British teen dance drama, also released in 3D. When Carly (Nichola Burley) and her streetdance crew lose both their leader and their rehearsal space within a short space of time, hope arrives in the unlikely guise of a local ballet school. The school's headmistress, Helena (Charlotte Rampling), offers Carly the use of the school's rehearsal facilities in return for an injection of the streetdance intensity and passion that she finds lacking in her lacklustre classically-trained students. Cultures, egos, talents and temperaments clash as the worlds of streetdance and ballet collide.
Drama set in Spain in the 1980s. Frankie (Danny Dyer), is on the run from the high-rises of South London to a new life in Malaga with nothing but a tin stuffed full of cash. Having no idea that this delivery of cash to super-suave playboy and ex-con, Charlie (Tamer Hassan), will change his life forever, he soon becomes one of the gang, and finds himself drawn into a flamboyant and violent world of organised crime.
Ben Gregor directs this street dance comedy about a group of city kids trying to stage a fundraiser. Forced to find enough money to keep their after-school youth club from closing down, a mixed-bag of raw teen talent, led by shy dance prodigy Jaden (Akai Osei-Mansfield) and motormouth Ethan (Theo Stevenson), come together to try to stage a spectacular, one-night-only fundraiser to save the day. Ashley Jensen, Kimberley Walsh and Ashley Walters co-star.
