Resulta un problema el desarrollo de bufalos asilvestrados en el ecosistema de humedal constituyendo una de las Especies Exoticas Invasoras (fauna) con mayores impactos negativos en el recurso suelo y vegetacion, para lo cual se realizan estudios a partir de el desarrollo de sistemas que mitiguen los impactos de estos sobre la biodiversidad del ecosistema estos ecosistemas. se trabaja en la aplicacion de un Programa de manejo del Bufalo asilvestrado basado en cuando, como y que hacer ante cada situacion, brindando alternativas sostenibles que tengan presentes las concepciones y formas de las transferencias tecnologicas y el extensionismo productivo, donde se logre que tanto el nivel cientifico como el aporte de los campesinos y productores a traves de sus experiencias, se conjuguen y de conjunto empresas, productores e instituciones cientificas y docentes del territorio asi como, las empresas y productores que desarrollaran en los proximos anos esta especie, se encuentran en condiciones de asumir los nuevos retos de la Produccion Animal y sobre todo para el desarrollo sostenible de esta especie bubalina."
