T1 wird daraufhin aus Nutzersicht untersucht. Dazu werden charakteristische Defizite, die bei der Ubersetzung verschiedener linguistischer Phanomene vom Englischen ins Deutsche auftreten, aufgezeigt. Vor diesem Hintergrund wird ein koharenter englischer Text aus dem Ubersetzungsalltag (Gebrauchsanweisung) mit T1 ins Deutsche ubertragen. Die 71 ubersetzten Satze werden nacheinander diskutiert. Daraus ergibt sich, dass die richtige lexikalische Zuordnung der Verben und das korrekte Ausfullen der Valenzrahmen der Verben der Zielsprache das Ubersetzungsergebnis stark beeinflussen. Weiterhin konnte T1 dadurch optimiert werden, dass die unterschiedlichen grammatischen Konstruktionen besser erkannt und Mustern zugeordnet werden. Ausserdem besteht Kodierungsbedarf bei zahlreichen Worterbucheintragen fur einzelne Lexeme.
