Ben Wheatley directs this dystopian action thriller set in 1975 London, adapted from the novel by J.G. Ballard. Tom Hiddleston plays Robert Laing, a wealthy young doctor who joins an insular community that resides in a luxury high-rise building where the floor you inhabit is determined by your status and affluence.
Designed by renowned architect Anthony Royal (Jeremy Irons), Laing takes up residence on the 27th floor or, halfway up the hierarchy. He befriends documentary maker Richard Wilder (Luke Evans) and his wife (Elizabeth Moss), who are confined to a lower floor. Wilder is bent on mobilising a class war and toppling the serene isolated community, which divides the residents into aggressive factions.
The story follows Laing as he navigates amongst the chaos and complete dismantling of societal order.
All eight episodes from the second series of the family-friendly British fantasy-comedy. From the creators of CBBC's hit show 'Horrible Histories', the series follows bored stay-at-home mum Debbie Maddox (Martha Howe-Douglas) whose life takes an unexpected turn when an elf turns up one day insisting that she accompany him to the magical land of Yonderland. Reluctantly she agrees, and upon her arrival she meets with the Elders who tell her she is the Chosen One and must help Yonderland fight against the malevolent Negatus (Simon Farnaby) who is seeking to take over the land for himself. However, with no guidance, thanks to the Elders losing the scroll which explained what the Chosen One must do, she'll have to take it one day at a time... The episodes are: 'Panic in the Streets of Yonderland', 'The Winging Detective', 'A Vicious Circle', 'Up the Workers', 'Nanny La Roo', 'Game of Crones', 'The Last Fahl' and 'Careful What You Wish For'.
Documentary focusing on the audio diaries of British writer and theologian John Hull in which he recorded his experience with blindness. Having gone blind in the middle of his career and just before the birth of his first son, John Hull decided to keep audio records of his experiences as a way to come to terms with his condition and to record important family events. Having studied theology at Cambridge and obtained a PhD from the University of Birmingham, John combined his academic work on theology and education with his new experiences of disability and blindness. This included producing articles and books on the topic in which he sought to examine his condition in a Christian context as well as producing real-world solutions to aid the disabled. The film combines John's reflections with reconstructions featuring actors Dan Renton Skinner as John and Simone Kirby as his wife Marilyn to tell the story of how his eyes and eventually his visual memory failed him.
