Timmy has recently moved to Florida with his family. He misses his
old friends back home and hasn't made any new ones yet. On top of
his loneliness, he is having a hard time adjusting to the warm
climate in Florida at Christmas time. When Timmy meets an unusual
woman he soon learns to appreciate his seaside home. Her spell
bounding qualities fascinate and also inspire Timmy to adjust to
his new surroundings. As he arrives at the home of the strange
elfin woman to share Christmas Eve dinner, he is impressed with
ways of celebrating the holiday of Christmas in Florida. The
decorations at her home are like nothing he has ever seen. And yet,
Christmas seems just as magical as ever. When it is time to sit
down to dinner, Timmy is thoroughly delighted with the new smells
and tastes that the exotic treats brings. In a short amount of time
Timmy has gone from being a miserable, negative little boy to a
positive one that takes delight in every new moment and the
surprises it may bring.
Growing up, many of us have had fears that surfaced when the lights
went out. For some of us they may still exist. The child in my
rhyming book is very afraid of the monsters that lurk in the closet
and under the bed. At first the child is terrified when the
monsters come out. Soon the child realizes that the monsters do not
want to harm him but rather play with the toys in the bedroom. But
after the monsters mischievous playfulness begins to destroy the
bedroom, the child overcomes his fears and takes charge of the
situation forcing the monsters to clean up their mess and retreat
to their hiding places. I hope you and your child enjoy my
whimsical rhyming book "There's A Monster in My Closet."
