All four 'Magnificent Seven' films. The series begins with 'The Magnificent Seven' (1960). A small Mexican village, terrorised by the cutthroat Calvera (Eli Wallach) and his bandits, hire a team of seven mercenaries to expel the vile interloper. The seven are led by Chris (Yul Brynner), and they set about the job of training the terrified townfolk in the art of killing before meting out their own brand of justice. Director John Sturges' re-make of Akira Kurosawa's 'The Seven Samurai' cemented star-like qualities on most of its cast, including James Coburn, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson and Robert Vaughn. The first sequel, 'The Return of the Magnificent Seven' (1966), only has Yul Brunner from the original all-star cast. Chris Adams (Brynner) is sent for to help a Mexican village get rid of a tyrannical rancher (Emilio Fernandez) who is bullying the villagers into building a church as a memorial for his son. Adams rounds up the usual suspects (another six to make up the magic number) from prison and other places of ill-repute and the new Seven head for the Mexican border. 'Guns of the Magnificent Seven' (1969) sees George Kennedy take over the Yul Brynner role of Chris Adams, the only surviving member of the original Seven. Adams puts together another six bandits in order to help a group of Mexican rebels free their leader from a prison run by the ruthless Colonel Diego (Michael Ansara). Diego will go to any lengths to prevent the rebel leader from being freed but the Seven are also just as determined. Finally 'The Magnificent Seven Ride!' (1972) is set when the various heroes are all either too old to fight or languishing in jail. Chris Adams is newly married and trying to settle down with his wife but decides to help his buddy fight bandits after they kidnap his wife.

Collection of all three movies of the award-winning trilogy 'The Godfather', directed and co-written by Francis Ford Coppola and based on the successful novel by Mario Puzo. Beginning with 'The Godfather' (1972), in late 1940s New York, Mafia 'Godfather' Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando) gathers his three sons around him for daughter Connie (Talia Shire)'s wedding; the hot-headed Sonny (James Caan), ineffectual Fredo (John Cazale) and war hero Michael (Al Pacino), who chooses to distance himself from the family 'business'. When Vito is shot and wounded for refusing to sanction a rival family's heroin sales on his territory, Sonny temporarily takes over and embarks on bloody gang warfare. This results in him being killed in an ambush, and Michael finds himself nominated to succeed the ailing Vito. The film won three Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor (Brando) and Best Adapted Screenplay. In 'The Godfather: Part II' (1974), it is 1958 and Michael has now fully embraced the trappings of a mafia boss, leading to conflict with his wife, Kay (Diane Keaton). As he attempts to expand his crime empire, he thinks of his late father Vito's rise to power in New York during the 1920s, but all of Michael's attempts to emulate Vito and do the best for his family only pulls them further apart. Robert De Niro plays the young Vito in flashbacks to his early life. Both a prequel and sequel to the first movie, the film was nominated for eleven Oscars, winning five awards including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Supporting Actor (De Niro). Finally, in 'The Godfather: Part III' (1990), it is 1979, and Michael donates $100 million to the Vatican as a signal that his family intend to go legitimate. Unfortunately, the hot-headed Vincent Mancini (Andy Garcia), illegitimate son of Michael's late brother, Sonny, has taken an interest in both business affairs and Michael's daughter, initiating a violent and bloody power struggle. The film was nominated for seven Oscars, including Best Director, Best Picture and Best Cinematography.

Tennessee Williams had a distinct talent for writing short plays and, not surprisingly, this remarkable new collection of never-before-published one-acts includes some of his most poignant and hilarious characters: the indefatigable, witty and tough drag queens of And Tell Sad Stories of the Deaths of Queens...; the strange little man behind the nom de plume Mister Paradise; and the extravagant mistress who cheats on her married man in The Pink Bedroom. Most were written in the 1930s and early 1940s when Williams was already flexing his theatrical imagination. Chosen from over seventy unpublished one-acts, these are some of Williams's finest; several have premiered recently at The Hartford Stage Co., The Kennedy Center, the Manhattan Theatre Club and the Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival. Included in this volume: These Are the Stairs You Got to Watch Mister Paradise The Palooka Escape Why Do You Smoke So Much, Lily? Summer At the Lake The Big Game The Pink Bedroom The Fat Man's Wife Thank You, Kind Spirit The Municipal Abattoir Adam and Eve on a Ferry And Tell Sad Stories of the Deaths of Queens... Long associated with Williams, acclaimed stage and film actors Eli Wallach and Anne Jackson provide a fresh and challenging foreword for actors, directors, and readers.

"A simply written, effective tale of an ambitious and hard-working American actor trying to make his dream come true."--"Los Angeles Times"
"Working with Eli Wallach was one of the great pleasures of my life--he is an extremely versatile actor, and now a fine storyteller."--Clint Eastwood
The sparkling memoir of a movie icon's life in the footlights and on camera, "The Good, the Bad, and Me" tells the extraordinary story of Eli Wallach's many years dedicated to his craft. Beginning with his early days in Brooklyn and his college years in Texas, where he dreamed of becoming an actor, this book follows his career as one of the earliest members of the famed Actors Studio and as a Tony Award winner for his work on Broadway. Wallach has worked with such stars as Marlon Brando, Paul Newman, Marilyn Monroe, Gregory Peck, and Henry Fonda, and his many movies include "Baby Doll, The Misfits, The Magnificent Seven, How the West Was Won," the iconic "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, "and, most recently, "Mystic River." For more than fifty years Eli Wallach has held a special place in film and theater, and in a tale rich with anecdotes, wit, and remarkable insight he recounts his magical life in a world unlike any other.
Eli Wallach was born in Brooklyn, and he and his wife of fifty seven years, Anne Jackson, were recently named the King and Queen of Brooklyn. Eli Wallach remains active in film and on stage and lives in New York City.

'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid' (1969) stars Paul Newman and Robert Redford as Butch and Sundance, a pair of outlaws finding it increasingly difficult to make a living in the Wild West. With big business constantly extending its influence, and the law following hot on its heels, the everyday business of robbing banks and trains is becoming more and more of a strain. Butch and Sundance decide to cut their losses and head for a new life in Bolivia with their friend, Etta Place (Katharine Ross). However, on reaching their destination, things, if anything, seem worse - they now have to rob banks in which people only speak Spanish. 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly' (1966), Sergio Leone's classic spaghetti western, is the final part of the 'Dollars' trilogy that brought Clint Eastwood to Hollywood's attention. During the American Civil War, the paths of three loners, Joe (Eastwood), Tuco (Eli Wallach) and Setenza (Lee Van Cleef), cross as they search for the grave of Bill Carson, said to be home to a hidden fortune. As the war intensifies, however, the treasure seekers find themselves drawn into a battle that dwarfs their own mercenary pursuits.
