Marketing is the function within an organization that focuses directly on the customer. Strategic Marketing in the Customer Driven Organization places a unique emphasis on the reason for the existence of the firm -- to provide, communicate and deliver value to the customer. Through the use of many international examples, the book demonstrates how providing the real needs of customers more effectively than the competition is the key to long term strategic success. "This is not your typical marketing book. It provides the reader with real life business situations, where gathering information is key – not just on the marketplace but specific information about your customers and building it in to practical marketing response programs. As the President of a company who prides itself on building and nurturing strong customer relationships I would recommend this as a ‘must read’" Dr Pearse Lyons, President , Alltech Inc. "Frank Bradley’s new book takes as its point of departure his well-established core marketing concepts (understand, provide, communicate and deliver value) and puts them to use as the foundation for this compact, concise and very readable text." Professor Susan Hart, Head of Department of Marketing University of Strathclyde Strategic Marketing in the Customer Driven Organization has been written for students of general marketing, marketing management and strategic marketing for advanced undergraduate and MBA courses. It is also especially suited to executive education programmes and managers wishing to integrate experiential learning within an intellectual framework. In 2003-2004 the flora and vegetation of Timber Island, the largest
undeveloped island in Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire, was
studied. Utilizing both a vegetation analysis and floristic survey
the island was found to have 190 vascular plant species. Abundance
and frequency data were recorded from 106 plots and examined using
a two-way indicator species analysis program (TWINSPAN). The result
was the identification of six cover types, and two additional cover
types were recognized through qualitative field observation. The
flora of Timber Island was further analyzed in relation to three
other known island floras in Lake Winnipesaukee: Rattlesnake
Island, Bear Island, and Three Mile Island. Two indices of
similarity, Sorensen's Index and the Simple Matching Index, were
utilized to compare the floras. Similarities to Timber Island,
based on Sorensen's Index were 49.7% for Bear Island, 51.2% for
Rattlesnake Island, and 51.8% for Three Mile Island. Results from
the Simple Matching Index showed higher levels of similarity:
Rattlesnake Island 58.3%, Bear Island 63.4%, and Three Mile Island
53.9%. In addition to the vascular flora, ground cover, soil type,
and bryophophyte diversity were studied. Fifteen new records of
bryophytes for Belknap County were recorded. Further discussed are
the topics of turnover rates, rare plant preservation under
pressure from elevated deer populations, and insularity of
freshwater islands. This work brings up conservation questions and
in a time of accelerated climate change this serves as a solid
base-line floristic record of the environment of Timber Island, and
the greater Lake Winnipesaukee region. Finally the reader is
invited to query different methods of conversation and to consider
freshwater lakes and their islands within, as perhaps more dynamic
to the local ecology than may have otherwise been assumed. Full
flora, photographs, and an extensive list insular botanical works
are included.
This book is a fictionalized treatment of the Gospel. A
well-preserved manuscript is discovered, dating from the late first
century A.D. It is written in the common Greek language of the
eastern Roman provinces and purports to be an account of the life
and acts of one Jeshua, written by a Roman centurion whose servant
he had healed. This Jeshua was an itinerant Jewish preacher from
the time of the Emperors Augustus and Tiberius. After introductory
statements by the archeologist, by a friend to whom he had
entrusted the manuscript and by an expert on ancient manuscripts,
there follows the legionary's own preface. He gives a brief
biography of himself and his family origins at Rome and his career
as a soldier, first in Gaul and then in Syria and Palenstine as an
officer of the X Legion, Fretensis.
What follows is a synthesis of the four canonical gospels,
combined into a single narrative, interspersed with copious
questioning, analysis and commentary by the ancient writer. Deeply
impressed by the healing of a beloved young servant, after retiring
with the rank of military tribune he devoted the rest of his life
to interviewing those who had known Jeshua and gathering their
written accounts of this life and mission. His Roman viewpoint and
military experience are antithetical to Jeshua's teaching, yet he
has an undeniable attraction to that teaching. The beloved servant,
once a slave, has been manumitted and serves as an amanuensis to
the writer. Their joint effort has produced thje manuscript in
question.
In the end the legionary admits the power and cogency of Jeshua's
message and reluctantly accepts its meaning for himself. His
servant, Demetrios, ends the manuscript with hisown confession of
belief, for, as he says, he had no doubt about Jeshua ever since
the day he was healed of a virulent fever at the age of 14.

For many years educational experts have extolled the benefits of a
positive student-teacher relationship. Personal connections between
teachers and students can be the key motivator in student interest
and achievement in school. Yet teachers have little knowledge about
how to establish the relationships that can instill in their
students a desire to learn and an incentive to minimize negative
behaviors in the classroom. This book holds the keys to forming
those relationships that teachers need to motivate and successfully
communicate with every student. The six keys identified to
successful classroom management based on the concepts of the
Process Communication Model (R) are: 1. Know Yourself 2. Know Your
Students 3. Examine Current Strategies 4. Motivate by Type 5.
Develop Intervention Strategies 6. Create a Multifaceted
Environment The authors offer teachers unique and easy-to-implement
strategies for managing their classrooms and their students. This
book helps teachers maximize student potential through knowing
their personality types and designing management strategies and
instruction that correspond to each type. Effective Classroom
Management contains true success stories from real teachers who
have experienced barriers in reaching difficult students. Chapters
are also provided on individualizing for success, dealing with
acute negative behaviors, and preparing students for standards and
assessments.
