Enterprise modelling is concerned with representing and assessing various aspects of an enterprise in order to better understand, restructure or design enterprise operations. It is the basis of business process re-engineering, a major concern in most companies in industrial countries, and the first step to advising enterprise integration. Enterprise integration is a rapidly developing technical field which looks at the interworking of business applications. It has already provided proven solutions for system interconnection, electronic data interchange, product data exchange and distributed computing environments.
