Dan, christened Duncan, born and raised in Montrose, Scotland,
inherited the title Laird of the MacDonald Clan upon the death of
his father, Big Mac, so named for his size and stature. Duncan
married his friend Florence who came to be known as Flossie and
immigrated to America with their daughter Marjorie and
mother-in-law Phoebe Biddle. They first settled in Chester, then
Upland, Pennsylvania. The story of the family life of Dan takes the
reader to Media, Pennsylvania, another local borough. With no male
heir to inherit the title of Laird of the MacDonald Clan, his
brother Frank's son, Kenneth, claims the title upon the death of
Duncan. Frank, a Baptist minister, moves with his wife and children
to Alabama as rector of the Baptist congregation in Birmingham.
