This book endeavours to give a concise contribution to
understanding the data assimilation and related methodologies. The
mathematical concepts and related algorithms are fully presented,
especially for those facing this theme for the first time. The
first chapter gives a wide overview of the data assimilation steps
starting from Gauss' first methods to the most recent as those
developed under the Monte Carlo methods. The second chapter treats
the representation of the physical system as an ontological basis
of the problem. The third chapter deals with the classical Kalman
filter, while the fourth chapter deals with the advanced methods
based on recursive Bayesian Estimation. A special chapter, the
fifth, deals with the possible applications, from the first Lorenz
model, passing trough the biology and medicine up to planetary
assimilation, mainly on Mars. This book serves both teachers and
college students, and other interested parties providing the
algorithms and formulas to manage the data assimilation everywhere
a dynamic system is present.
This volume covers a large area, from the description of
methodologies for data analysis to the real application. Chapters
focus on methodologies for preprocessing of microarray data, a
survey of miRNA Data analysis, Cloud-based approaches, application
of data mining techniques for data analysis, biclustering to query
different datasets, web-based tool to analyze the evolution of
miRNA clusters, application of biclustering to mine patterns of
co-regulated genes ontologies, microarray and proteomic Data, Gene
Regulatory Network Inference, Gene Regulatory Network methods,
analysis of Mouse data for metabolomics studies, analysis of
microRNA data in Multiple Myeloma, microarray data analysis in
Gliobastomas, and microRNA data in Cardiogenesis.Written for the
Methods in Molecular Biology series, chapters include introductions
to their respective topics, lists of the necessary materials and
reagents, step-by-step, readily reproducible laboratory protocols,
and tips on troubleshooting and avoiding known pitfalls.
Authoritative and practical, Microarray Data Analysis: Methods and
Applications, Second Edition aims to ensure successful results in
the further study of this vital field.
The Big Red Umbrella and Gussie Levine's two other books, The Wall
That Grew and Grew" and the Miracle Leaf offer stories that show
the curiosity, innocence and positive natures of children. They
love to discover new ideas and are wise within their child's world.
Gussie has woven her stories into real experiences that take the
reader into captivating situations. Gussie's stories all end on a
positive note because she always sees the good in her children.
esaustivo. "
Expressive therapy promotes children's capacity to heal from early
trauma by helping them process painful experiences over time at
progressively more mature levels of understanding. Relying on
excellent coping skills that have helped them survive, children in
therapy are often invested in not talking due to the highly
defended nature of their problems, or perhaps the need to protect a
parent through silence. Alternative means of expression are often
necessary. Dr. Klorer's work allows children to communicate intense
feelings in ways that are natural to them, through art and play,
not solely by verbalization. In treatment, children are helped to
develop their own means of creative expression through
idiosyncratic symbols, stories, and repetitive themes that both
express and contain their pain. In addition to a means of
communication, art can be used in therapy to assess levels of
emotional and cognitive functioning, object relations,
developmental tasks, strengths, and defense mechanisms. Expressive
therapy, which integrates object relations theory, attachment
theory, and cognitive development, can be applied to family
assessment and treatment as well. Professionals who work with
children will welcome this book as it offers sensitive and creative
ways to help even their most challenging patients.
