This book is a compilation of extant records of marriage licenses issued in Harford County, Maryland, from 1777 to 1865, augmented with useful cross references. The information has been extracted from original records, as available, and from the courthouse transcription, where not, and is supplemented by early minister's returns. Surnames of both bride and groom are arranged alphabetically. Entries include the full name of the bride and groom, date of issuance of the license, location of the entry in the original record (as available), and page reference to the entry in the 1888 transcription. Many entries also contain "remarks" such as minister, residence or editorial comment.
