Temptation proves too much for a member of a religious community in
this drama directed by Carlos Reygadas. While living in a Mennonite
community in Mexico, married father Johan (Cornelio Wall), admits
to his wife Esther (Miriam Toews) that he's been having an affair
with fellow member Marianne (Maria Pankratz). With adultery
forbidden by his faith, Johan faces a deep moral dilemma,
complicated further by his belief that he's falling in love with
Marianne. The situation worsens when Johan's father, made aware of
the situation, announces that Johan has fallen under the spell of
the devil.

Controversial and sexually explicit Mexican drama from director
Carlos Reygadas. Downtrodden couple Marcos (Marcos Hernandez) and
his wife (Bertha Ruiz) decide to kidnap a baby for the ransom
money, but when the kidnap goes badly wrong and the baby dies,
Marcos is plagued by guilt. In his search for relief, he meets the
troubled Ana (Anapola Mushkadiz), the daughter of the powerful
general for whom Marcos works as a driver, and who prostitutes
herself for her own pleasure. As their two lives intertwine, Marcos
finds himself involved in a religious procession in honour of the
Lady of Guadalupe, where a moment of shocking violence offers him a
chance at redemption.

Amat Escalante directs this violent drama depicting family turmoil
in the midst of the Mexican drug war. Heli (Armando Espita) leads a
relatively normal life for a young Mexican man. Married to Sabrina
(Linda González) and the father to a baby boy, he also shares his
home with his 12-year-old sister Estela (Andrea Vergara). Despite
her young age, Estela is in a relationship with 17-year-old soldier
Beto (Juan Eduardo Palacios), who steals some cocaine from a drug
cartel in a bid to earn enough money to run away with Estela. When
the plan goes awry, Heli, his sister and their family are drawn
into a spiral of violence and retribution from which they will
struggle to escape.
