Constant improvements in technological applications have allowed
for more opportunities to develop automated systems. This not only
leads to higher success in smart data analysis, but also ensures
that technological progression will continue. Ubiquitous Machine
Learning and its Applications is a pivotal reference source for the
latest research on the issues and challenges machines face in the
new millennium. Featuring extensive coverage on relevant areas such
as computational advertising, software engineering, and
bioinformatics, this publication is an ideal resource for
academicians, graduate students, engineering professionals, and
researchers interested in discovering how they can apply these
advancements to various disciplines.
Why are children from disadvantaged and minority communities
overrepresented among academic underachievers, poor learners and
school dropouts? This volume engages with this question and
examines classroom learning as a process that involves a multitude
of actors situated in specific social, cultural, and historical
contexts. The volume covers an interdisciplinary spectrum of
educational processes, contexts, educational ambitions, and
limitations of low caste, working class and middle-class students
from different Indian communities and regions. The volume delves
into the problem of academic underperformance from a social
identity perspective and probes into social context-based
variability in classroom learning, systemic disadvantages in the
form of negative stereotypes and the family as an under-studied
social group in all discussions of schooling. It also examines the
teacher perceptions and attitudes toward Adivasi students and other
minority groups in primary schools, and their effect on children's
classroom engagement. The essays in this volume provide insights
into unresolved and critical research questions that require
attention of teachers, school management, educators, and policy
makers alike. This book will also be useful for academicians,
policymakers, teacher educators, pedagogic practitioners in India
and abroad, and state and central government institutions working
on school education, educational psychology, policymaking in
education, learning methods and research on educational
enhancement.
Data science is an emerging field and innovations in it need to be
explored for the success of society 5.0. This book not only focuses
on the practical applications of data science to achieve
computational excellence, but also digs deep into the issues and
implications of intelligent systems. This book highlights
innovations in data science to achieve computational excellence
that can optimize performance of smart applications. The book
focuses on methodologies, framework, design issues, tools,
architectures, and technologies necessary to develop and understand
data science and its emerging applications in the present era. Data
Science and Innovations for Intelligent Systems: Computational
Excellence and Society 5.0 is useful for the research community,
start-up entrepreneurs, academicians, data-centered industries, and
professeurs who are interested in exploring innovations in varied
applications and the areas of data science.
Oilseed brassicas are among the largest traded agricultural
commodities and are grown in around fifty countries worldwide.
Utilised for both consumption and bioenergy use, demand is
increasing and this book covers the entire gamut of oilseed
brassicas. Beginning with an introduction and then organised into
two sections, it reviews genetics and genomics (including breeding,
heterosis and selection methods) and stress management and
important pathogens, to provide a complete overview of brassica
oilseeds.
Drought is a normal, recurrent climatic feature that occurs in
virtually every climatic zone around the world, causing billions of
dollars in loss annually for the farming community. Crops are
selected across the country to normal rainfall conditions. If any
deviation in normal rainfall towards deficit, it will adversely
affect the crop growth, development and production under rainfed
conditions. The early break in monsoon, i.e. early season drought
is the one which adversely affect the transplanting area of rice
while the monsoon failure during July and August, i.e. intermittent
drought is highly detrimental in the tropics to a larger extent.
This resulted to a sudden decline in agricultural production
despite the adaptation of improved technologies to mitigate the
effect of drought. This book contains seven chapters. It deals with
various basic and applied aspects of drought and dry spells on rice
crop. It is illustrative with graphs, photographs, pictures and
tables. Information on weather parameters are also incorporated in
the end of chapters through table and graph. In addition,
references alongwith bibliography has also been presented in the
second and last seventh chapter.
This book is a Monograph of honest research work and clinical study
that carried out for the use of recent drugs in prevention and
treatment of nausea & vomiting in the peri-operative
period. This study also included the use of recent drugs like
Palonosetron and Onadansetron during and after various surgical
procedures .We have taken utmost care in titrating the dosage
schedule which is in accordance with the standard reccomendations.
Authors tried to preserve the upto date data while making this
monograph.
The discovery of green fluorescent protein and cloning of its gene
from Aequorea victoria heralded a new era of investigation in
virtually every field of cell and molecular biology ranging from
the study of gene expression to protein sorting, organelle
structure, measurement of protein-protein interaction, and so
on.Before GFP, however several other fluorescent molecules has been
in use but none of them could be as potential as GFP. What makes
GFP so significant is its ability to fluoresces itself once formed
in comparison of other bioluminescent molecules (such as aequorin
and firefly luciferase) which require the addition of other
substrate before they glow. Further, it is a small protein and can
be attached to the protein of interest without disturbing its
proper function. Also its small size allows following the fused
protein, especially in organelles like neurons.
Water is essential to all known life forms and is required for
hydration to sustain health, sanitation needs, as a solvent to wash
everday items, for industrial applications and as a thermal
transfer agent, among others. Inadequate water treatment has a
significant and devastating impact on public on health. Worldwide,
lack access to safe drinking water, and twice that many lack
adequate sanitation.
Dentistry over the years has been held by lay man as a feeling of
dread. This fear of the dentist over the generations has been
mainly due to unpleasant experiences incurred by the patient either
due to lack of knowledge or of previous dreadful experiences of
dental treatment narrated to them. In routine practice we encounter
certain circumstances which do not empower the practitioner neither
to use general anaesthesia nor it is advised to carry out the
procedure under local anaesthesia alone. Thus the lack of
understanding of the conveyed verbal massage to these patients made
the attempted procedure virtually a nightmare to the attending
surgeon which resulted in an inferior surgical outcome. Hence the
technique of anaesthesia in the form of CONSCIOUS SEDATION was
developed.
