In this critical biography, Susan Lee Johnson braids together lives
over time and space, telling tales of two white women who, in the
1960s, wrote books about the fabled frontiersman Christopher "Kit"
Carson: Quantrille McClung, a Denver librarian who compiled the
Carson-Bent-Boggs Genealogy, and Kansas-born but Washington, D.C. -
and Chicago-based Bernice Blackwelder, a singer on stage and radio,
a CIA employee, and the author of Great Westerner: The Story of Kit
Carson. In the 1970s, as once-celebrated figures like Carson were
falling headlong from grace, these two amateur historians kept
weaving stories of western white men, including those who married
American Indian and Spanish Mexican women, just as Carson had wed
Singing Grass, Making Out Road, and Josefa Jaramillo. Johnson's
multilayered biography reveals the nature of relationships between
women historians and male historical subjects and between history
buffs and professional historians. It explores the practice of
history in the context of everyday life, the seductions of gender
in the context of racialized power, and the strange contours of
twentieth-century relationships predicated on nineteenth-century
pasts. On the surface, it tells a story of lives tangled across
generation and geography. Underneath run probing questions about
how we know about the past and how that knowledge is shaped by the
conditions of our knowing.
What if you'd committed a truly dreadful crime but couldn't
remember? The Doctor takes Peri to the Memory Farm - a state of the
art space station where hidden memories can be harvested and
analysed. To their surprise, they find the station in lock-down and
all its resources dedicated to probing the memories of an elderly
man. Garius Moro may, or may not, have been responsible for the
deaths of billions of people many years ago, but he simply can't
remember. The assembled representatives of two opposing factions,
each with their own agenda, anxiously wait for the truth to be
unlocked from Moro's mind. But when a memory does eventually
surface, everyone is surprised to learn that it is of Peri. CAST:
Colin Baker (The Doctor), Nicola Bryant (Peri), Joseph Mydell
(Garius Moro), Diane Keen (Varish), Charlotte Strevens (Naras),
Caleb Frederick (Offram), Sean Connolly (Kennedy), Steven Wickham
(Grisk / Venorg), John Green (Otwoe). Other parts played by members
of the cast.
Elementary Differential Equations with Boundary Value Problems
integrates the underlying theory, the solution procedures, and the
numerical/computational aspects of differential equations in a
seamless way. For example, whenever a new type of problem is
introduced (such as first-order equations, higher-order equations,
systems of differential equations, etc.) the text begins with the
basic existence-uniqueness theory. This provides the student the
necessary framework to understand and solve differential equations.
Theory is presented as simply as possible with an emphasis on how
to use it. The Table of Contents is comprehensive and allows
flexibility for instructors.

Answering a call from UNIT, the Doctor arrives in London to find
the streets deserted, apart from looters in possession of a
valuable commodity - water. Britain is suffering an extreme and
bizarre drought. The cause is suspected to be extra-terrestrial.
The discovery of a signal being transmitted into space, and of a
spacecraft whose crew are desiccated corpses, provides a possible
answer. But the true enemy is an old foe of the Doctor's .The
Cybermen have been patient, setting their plans in place over a
number of years. As the final stage is implemented, in the darkest
hour, the Doctor must identify who among his allies he can trust.

not only as the Doctor, but also for his popular stay in I'm A
Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! As the title might suggest, this

On the planet Omnia, a young man leads the Doctor and Peri through
the battle-scarred ruins of a city. Among the rubble he shows them
proof that their invaders and new masters, thought to be
invincible, can be defeated. The proof is the blasted, burnt-out
remains of a Dalek. But this is a Dalek-occupied world like few
others. For one thing, there are few Daleks to be seen. And for
another, the Daleks have appointed an Omnian, Magister Carmen Rega,
to govern the planet as their emissary. Why are the Daleks not
present in force? And can the Doctor and Peri risk helping the
Omnians, when the least show of resistance will be met with
devastating reprisals from space? CAST: Colin Baker (The Doctor),
Nicola Bryant (Peri),Saskia Reeves (Carmen Rega),William Ellis
(Aldo Rega), Bruce Alexander (Hingus), Natasha Karp (Shayna/Tasha),
Ray Cezan (Kalib/Scientist), John Rayment (Gordus), Richard Keith
(Watcher/Operative), Nicholas Briggs (The Daleks). Other parts

How would you clear a stoppage on a Bren Gun while in action? What
is the most effective way to clear a wood of enemy forces? How best
could you counter a landing by enemy airborne forces in your area?
What measure can you take to help ensure accurate rifle fire at
night? What qualities should you look for when selecting a patrol
commander? Just a few of the practical questions posed - and
answered - in the selection of publications included in The Home
Guard Training Pocket Manual. A number of manuals and training
pamphlets were privately published during World War II to
supplement the slim official Home Guard manual produced by the War
Office. Covering everything from patrolling, night fighting, drill
and small arms proficiency to the legal powers of the Home Guard,
these manuals were welcomed by the men of local Home Guard units
keen to do everything possible to prepare for possible invasion -
when they would be the first line of defence. This pocket manual
collates a selection of material from these fascinating
publications, often written by serving soldiers and reprinted
multiple times due to demand.

Unprotected is the story of Amanda Danscher, a young woman who
accepts a position as a child protection social worker. She quickly
becomes embroiled in a case against their Minnesota town's former
champion hockey player and favorite son, Chuck Thomas, who will do
anything to buck the system rather than work with it including
whatever it takes to get Amanda out of his way. Luckily Amanda
reconnects with Jacob, a new county attorney who has the means to
help and protect her, but no clue how to break down her own
defenses. Set against the backdrop of the always messy and complex
world of child protection, Unprotected is ultimately about family
and a young woman's discovery that there are all kinds of family
and many places that can be called home.

Terry Nation's classic Blake's 7 series. The Way Ahead - by Mark
Wright Part 1: Project Aquitar, Part 2: Dissent. Roj Blake. Kerr
Avon. Names that sent shockwaves through the galaxy, shattering the
