Double bill of British dramas about football violence and hooliganism. 'The Football Factory' (2004) is based on the novel by John King. Tommy Johnson (Danny Dyer) is a bright but bored 30-year-old with a steady job and close-knit family who lives for the weekend life of casual sex, lager, drugs - and violence. Through him we meet three other males in his world: Billy Bright (Frank Harper), a right-wing fascist full of bitterness at a country that he perceives as having failed him; Zeberdee (Roland Manookian), a mouthy hooligan whose life revolves around crime and drugs; and Bill Farrell (Dudley Sutton), a 70-year-old war veteran who tries to enjoy every day to the limit. Shot in documentary style using a handheld camera, the film realistically captures the lure and potency of football violence. 'Arrivederci Millwall' (1990) follows a group of hardcore Millwall supporters as they travel to Bilbao in Spain for England's World Cup matches in 1982. Their rowdy behaviour soon leads them into trouble, and the violence escalates as Billy Jarvis (Kevin O'Donohoe) steals a gun to avenge his brother's death in the Falklands conflict.

Nick Love directs this big screen modern-day revamp of the classic British 1970s television series. Ray Winstone and pop star Plan B (aka Ben Drew) star as Regan and Carter, the iconic cop duo played by John Thaw and Dennis Waterman in the original version. When an armed robbery at a jewellery store causes Regan's investigations into a potential bank robbery to come to a standstill, he believes old enemy Francis Allen (Paul Anderson) is responsible.

However, having no evidence against him leaves the Flying Squad officer powerless to bring him in, but when Regan hears that Allen is now in business with a well known Serbian criminal, he becomes determined to catch the culprits whatever the cost.

Gritty coming-of-age drama set in the early 1980s about a young man who joins a 'firm' of football hooligans. The film, a big screen remake of a 1988 TV movie which starred Gary Oldman, follows Dom (Calum McNab) as he gains acceptance into a local firm of casuals. But when he witnesses what the firm's main man Bex (Paul Anderson) is capable of, and comprehends the extent of the violence he finds himself involved in, Dom decides it's time to get out. Caught in the middle of a mid-life crisis, Pierre (Daniel Auteil) is desperate for change, and so leaves his wife and son and heads off to London to write a book. He scours the capital's streets to find a subject for his masterpiece and eventually meets male escort Tom (Stuart Townsend). Tom then introduces him to the sordid underground world of sex, drugs and prostitution, thereby giving him the inspiration he needs to begin his novel. However, Pierre is soon spending so much time immersed in his new-found world of women and drugs that he has little energy left for his writing.
