The streets of Gotham City are no longer safe for criminals, who are being picked off by a masked vigilante in a rubber suit - dubbed 'Batman' by the press. Reporter Alexander Knox (Robert Wuhl) teams with photographer Vicki Vale (Kim Basinger) in an attempt to discover Batman's true identity - an investigation which leads them to the door of mysterious millioniare Bruce Wayne (Michael Keaton). Meanwhile, crime boss Carl Grissom's (Jack Palance) attempt to rid himself of untrustworthy henchman Jack Napier (Jack Nicholson) does not go according to plan, and after emerging physically - and mentally - disfigured from a vat of chemicals, Napier reinvents himself as the psychotic Joker.

Oswald Cobblepot was abandoned by his parents as a baby. Thirty three years later, bent on revenge, he returns to Gotham City as the Penguin (Danny DeVito). The Maitlands (Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin) are a happy couple who, when killed in a car crash, return as ghosts to their beloved home to wreak havoc on the ghastly yuppie family who have moved in. Being novices at haunting, their efforts go unnoticed by the house's new inhabitants except Goth daughter Lydia (Winona Ryder), who doesn't mind one bit. At their wit's end, the ghostly couple call on a despicably disgusting demon named 'Beetlejuice' (Michael Keaton) for help.

Sweeney Todd
Based on a 'penny dreadful' tale (which later became an urban myth) from the mid-19th Century, this musical tells the tale of Benjamin Barker (Depp), a barber who returns to London after spending years in exile for a crime he didn't commit. He soon discovers from pie-maker Mrs Lovett (Bonham Carter) that, in his absence, his wife has taken her own life and his daughter is now in the care of the man who had him sent away - the dastardly Judge Turpin (Alan Rickman). Seeking revenge and filled with a murderous rage, Barker sets up a barber's shop above Mrs Lovett's premises. Now calling himself Sweeney Todd, Barker kills off all his customers with a razor to the throat and sends their cadavers to the shop below to be used as a tasty new filling for Mrs Lovett's meat pies. What was once the worst pie shop in London quickly becomes one of the city's most popular eateries, but Barker won't be satisfied until he can lure Judge Turpin into the barber's chair...

Collection of the first six films in George Lucas's popular 'Star Wars' franchise. In 'Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace' (1999), Jedi Knight Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson) and his apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) have embarked upon a diplomatic mission to the planet Naboo, intending to open discussions between the planet's leaders and the heads of the Trade Federation. But when they are ambushed by Federation robots, they quickly realise that the negotiations are merely a decoy for a hostile invasion organised by the evil Sith master. Joining forces with Jar Jar Binks (Ahmed Best) and the Naboo Queen Amidala (Natalie Portman), the Jedis manage to escape from Naboo and journey to the trade planet of Tatooine, where Qui-Gon meets a young slave boy named Anakin (Jake Lloyd), whom he identifies as a potentially powerful Jedi. In 'Star Wars Episodes II: Attack of the Clones' (2002), Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) disobeys the strictures of his Jedi training, embarking on a forbidden affair with Amidala while his teacher Obi-Wan Kenobi's investigation of assassination attempts against the Senator (Jimmy Smits) leads him to the distant planet of Kamino and into the middle of a separatist plot which brings the Galactic Republic to the very brink of civil war. In 'Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith' (2005), as the Clone Wars rage on, the rift between Chancellor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) and the Jedi Council widens with young Jedi Knight, Anakin Skywalker, caught in the middle, his allegiances torn. Seduced by promises of power and the temptations of the dark side, he pledges himself to the evil Sith Order, becoming Darth Vader. Together, the Sith Lords set in motion a plot of revenge against the Jedi, in attempt to destroy them all. Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi tries to turn his old Padawan learner back to the light side, leading to a climactic lightsaber battle that will shape the fate of the galaxy forever. In 'Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope' (1977), the first released film of the franchise, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), a farm boy from a desert planet who dreams of becoming a pilot, is drawn into a rebellion when his family buys two robots that the evil Empire are desperate to get their hands on. An old Jedi knight, Obi-Wan Kenobi (Alec Guinness), and smuggler Han Solo (Harrison Ford) are among his companions as he attempts to save the beautiful Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) and aide the rebellion. In 'Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back' (1980), the rebel alliance flees the power of Darth Vader (Dave Prowse) once again and finds refuge on the frozen planet of Hoth, but their safe place does not stay safe for long. In 'Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi' (1983), rebel Luke Skywalker (Hamill) and his friends continue to battle evil in the form of the decadent galactic empire as the ruthless Palpatine sets plans in motion to build a second Death Star with the purpose of destroying the Rebel Alliance.

Two sci-fi horror spoofs. In 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' (1975), when bland engaged couple Brad (Barry Bostwick) and Janet (Susan Sarandon) seek shelter after their car breaks down in a storm, they find themselves made welcome in the very weird home of mad scientist Dr Frank N. Furter (Tim Curry), an alien transvestite who is building a monster called Rocky. The film was written by Richard O'Brien, who co-stars as sinister singing butler Riff-Raff, and songs include the immortal 'Time Warp' and 'Sweet Transvestite'. 'Shock Treatment' (1981) is the sequel to 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' and stars Cliff De Young and Jessica Harper as Brad and Janet, who find themselves contestants - or rather prisoners - on a TV gameshow.

'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' (2005), based on the novel by Roald Dahl, follows eccentric chocolatier Willy Wonka (Johnny Depp) and Charlie Bucket (Freddie Highmore), a good-hearted boy from a poor family who lives in the shadow of Wonka's extraordinary factory. Most nights in the Bucket home, dinner is a watered-down bowl of cabbage soup, which young Charlie gladly shares with his mother (Helena Bonham Carter) and father (Noah Taylor) and both pairs of grandparents. They all live in a tiny, tumbledown, drafty old house but it is filled with love. Every night, the last thing Charlie sees from his window is the great factory, and he drifts off to sleep dreaming about what might be inside. For nearly 15 years, no one has seen a single worker going in or coming out of the factory, or caught a glimpse of Willy Wonka himself, yet, mysteriously, great quantities of chocolate are still being made and shipped to shops all over the world. One day Willy Wonka makes a momentous announcement. He will open his famous factory and reveal 'all of its secrets and magic' to five lucky children who find golden tickets hidden inside five randomly selected Wonka chocolate bars. When Charlie finds some money on the snowy street and takes it to the nearest store for a Wonka Whipple-Scrumptious Fudgemallow Delight he finds a golden ticket. The family decides that Grandpa Joe (David Kelly) should be the one to accompany Charlie on this once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Once inside, Charlie is dazzled by one amazing sight after another. At their wit's end, the ghostly couple call on a despicably disgusting demon named 'Beetlejuice' (Keaton) for help. The animated 'Corpse Bride' (2005), set in a 19th century European village, follows Victor (voiced by Depp), a young man who is whisked away to the underworld and wed to a mysterious Corpse Bride (Bonham Carter), while his real bride, Victoria (Emily Watson), waits bereft in the land of the living. Though life in the Land of the Dead proves to be a lot more colourful than his strict Victorian upbringing, Victor learns that there is nothing in this world, or the next, that can keep him away from his one true love. When married family man Jung takes in beautiful young Russian patient Sabina Spielrin (Keira Knightley) for treatment at his clinic in Switzerland, she quickly becomes his muse and the two soon embark on a passionate sadomasochistic affair. Meanwhile, Freud and Jung's views and theories are developing in opposing directions, eventually leading to an insurmountable rift between the two.

The work in this book is drawn from a project which famous cinematographer Peter Suschitzky has been working on for the past seven years, on and off between his activities in the movies industry. Suschitzky decided to take up this project after years and years of photographing life all over the world. He wanted a to find a theme which he could work on at home and in his own time. He knew that it would be hard to do anything original with the theme that he had chosen, as so many painters and photographers, great and small, have worked on this subject before him. Nevertheless he felt that he had to put his own imprint on the subject. The result is this gorgeous book...
