This book is the first one in the Hindi Made Easy series. It is
meant primarily for beginners of Hindi. Slightly modified Roman
script is used throughout to facilitate the learning of Hindi
sounds, but not to replace the Hindi script This book will also
prove useful for the Breakthrough and Preliminary stages of the
Languages Ladder.
This book is a comprehensive guide and practice book for students
and others who want to improve their proficiency in Hindi. It deals
with all the four skill areas i.e. listening, speaking, reading and
writing. The book is divided into six chapters. The first four
chapters deal with the four linguistic skills. Each chapter is
sub-divided into topic area. The fifth chapter contains essential
vocabulary in Hindi and English. The last chapter contains specimen
papers in all skill areas. This books was originally written to
meet the demands of students who were preparing for their GCSE
examination in Hindi. Unfortunately, the GCSE examination for Hindi
was discontinued after some years. However, there is an O Level
examination in Hindi which students can take. This book certainly
will prove useful to prepare for O level examination in Hindi.
This is the second book in the Hindi Made Easy series. Non Hindi
speakers will find that as they progress through the book the
vocabulary and sentence structure become more complex. They will,
therefore, find this book and the others in the series extremely
useful in gaining a grasp of the Hindi language. Questions at the
end of each lesson are designed for the learners to monitor their
progress. Ample Hindi vocabulary with English translation is
provided at the end of the book. This book will also prove useful
for the Breakthrough and Preliminary stages of the Languages
Ladder.
