Before becoming the critically acclaimed filmmaker responsible for such iconic films as Dr. Strangelove and The Shining, Stanley Kubrick spent five years as a photographer for Look magazine. The Bronx native joined the staff in 1945, when he was only 17 years old, and shot humanist slice-of-life features that celebrate and expose New York City and its inhabitants.Through a Different Lens reveals the keen and evocative vision of a burgeoning creative genius in a range of feature stories and images, from everyday folk at the laundromat to a day in the life of a debutant, from a trip to the circus to Columbia University. Featuring around 300 images, many previously unseen, as well as rare Look magazine tear sheets, this release coincides with a major show at the Museum of the City of New York and includes an introduction by noted photography critic Luc Sante. These still photographs attest to Kubrick's innate talent for compelling storytelling, and serve as clear indicators of how this genius would soon transition to making some of the greatest movies of all time.

The New Yorkers is a glorious look at a city bursting with colour and life. It is a body of work full of frozen moments, serendipity and reflection. Through Robert Herman s work we recognise the New York we knew and the New York we still know today. His street photography freezes people and places in this city at decisive moments, with spontaneity and authenticity. In this book the city waves at us, looks us right in the eye and brushes past us, without seeing. It layers images upon images like the best graffiti -- always renewing and reforming itself. Features a Foreword by Sean Corocoran, Curator of Prints and Photographs, Museum of the City of New York and an Essay by Stella Kramer, Pulitzer Prize Winning Photo Editor.

A visual account of the birth of graffiti and street art, showcasing as-yet-unseen works collected by preeminent artist Martin Wong. Referred to by the New York Times as an artist "whose meticulous visionary realism is among the lasting legacies of New York's East Village art scene of the 1980s," Martin Wong (1946-1999) was firmly entrenched in the NYC street art world of the late '70s and '80s. City as Canvas chronicles the most important chapter in the street art movement and the artists involved. Showcasing Wong's enormous graffiti art collection, the book contains artwork, photographs, black books, letters, postcards, posters, and flyers made by Wong and his artist friends. The book contains previously unpublished art by famous street artists such as Futura 2000, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Christopher "Daze" Ellis, LA II, Lady Pink, and Keith Haring, to name only a few. City as Canvas traces the origins of urban self-expression and the era of "outlaw" street art in New York, which primed the floodgates for graffiti art to spread worldwide. Exhibition Schedule: Museum of the City of New York: Opens October 2013

"#Sandy" is a book of iPhone photos of Hurricane Sandy captured by photographers Benjamin Lowy, Stephen Wilkes, Ed Kashi VII, Hank Willis Thomas, 13th Witness, Richard Renaldi, Michael Christopher Brown, Wyatt Gallery, Ruddy Roye and others. After Hurricane Sandy devastated communities in the New York City, New Jersey and Connecticut areas in October of 2012, Foley Gallery and photographer Wyatt Gallery organized an exhibition of iPhone photographs of the storm by the photographers featured here. Hundreds of people attended the one-night event, and almost 400 photographs were purchased: as a result, $19,000 was donated to Occupy Sandy and Third Wave Volunteers. All royalties from this collection, published to coincide with the "Rising Waters" exhibition at the Museum of The City of New York, will be entirely donated to Occupy Sandy and Sandy Storyline.
