R102 Discovery Miles 1 020 Ships in 20 - 25 working days

The complete first season of the popular Star Trek spin-off series. In the pilot episode, 'Caretaker (Parts 1 and 2)', a Maquis ship inexplicably disappears during plasma storms in the Badlands. USS Voyager is assigned to investigate. To assist the mission, Captain Kathryn Janeway recruits a reluctant, cashiered Starfleet Officer who has also acted as a mercenary for the Maquis. Whilst exploring the renegade ship's last known position Voyager is mysteriously propelled 70 000 light years from home. Searching this uncharted quadrant of the galaxy, they become embroiled in a centuries-old enviromental problem on a nearby inhabited world. In 'Parallax', USS Voyager goes to the aid of a stricken vessel, only to become entrapped in a vortex of distorted time and space. 'Time and Again' sees Captain Janeway and Lieutenant Paris journey back to the past in order to solve the mystery surrounding a devastated world. In 'Phage', the quest to restock their starship USS Voyager has brought them to a barren planetoid where Neelix is attacked and has his lungs stolen. In 'The Cloud', the USS Voyager travels to the heart of a large nebula, but once inside becomes trapped and the crew realise that everything is not as it seems. In 'Eye of the Needle', Harry Kim discovers a wormhole, which the crew of the USS Voyager hope will lead back to the Alpha Quadrant. In 'Ex Post Facto', Tom Paris is convicted of murder whilst on an alien planet. In 'Emanations', the crew of the Voyager make a gruesome discovery while investigating a new chemical element and Harry Kim mysteriously disappears. In 'Prime Factors', the crew discover that the aliens offering them lavish hospitality on their shore leave also have the technology to send the Voyager back to their own quadrant - but the alien laws forbid their use of it. In 'State of Flux', the Voyager encounters the fearsome Kazon warriors again as they investigate a wrecked Kazon starship. They soon discover evidence of a traitor in their midst. In 'Heroes and Demons', several members of the Voyager crew disappear in a holodeck recreation of the medieval poem, Beowulf. The only member of the crew who can enter the holodeck safely is the reluctant doctor. In 'Cathexis', the USS Voyager finds a shuttlecraft containing an unconscious Tuvok and a comatose Chakotay. But when some of the crew of the Voyager start behaving strangely, it becomes apparent that the shuttlecraft has more than just two members. In 'Faces', the Vidians, a group of repulsive aliens who have contracted a disease which disfigures their faces, believe that the only cure is Klingon DNA. The Vidians then decide to use such technology to make B'elanna a full Klingon. In 'Jetrel', a shuttlecraft hails the Voyager with bad news for Neelix, informing him that he may be suffering from a life-threatening disease. In 'Learning Curve', the crew is plunged into danger when the computer starts to malfunction. Pressures build up as some of the Maquis in the crew decide not to follow Starfleet regulations.

The Award-Winning, International Best-Seller "I have success, money, women. I've been lionized by the public and the press. The world is at my feet. I've spread my wings and here I am, soaring above everything and everyone. But in reality, the descent has already begun." At age 20, Thomas Dekker was already earning 100,000 a year--as an amateur bike racer. The next year, he turned pro and his salary quadrupled then rose again to 900,000 as he established his position as a super-domestique among Europe's wealthiest superteams. The sport marveled at Dekker's rise as the young racer set his ambitions on capturing cycling's biggest prizes for himself. Before long, though, Dekker found himself corrupted by money, dazzled by fame, and cracking under the relentless pressure to perform at a superhuman level. In his tell-all book DESCENT: My Epic Fall from Cycling Superstardom to Doping Dead End, Dekker reveals a sordid way of life full of blood bags, drugs, prostitutes, and money. DESCENT tells the story of a yearslong bender that exposes the brutal truth of his life as a professional cyclist. And Dekker is not alone; he names those who fell with him and those who aided in his downfall. In DESCENT, we take an unflinching look at the European peloton as it roars through its modern boom years--the height of the EPO era--and what we see is shocking. You won't be able to turn away from this page-turning read about one man's rise, fall, and redemption and what his story reveals about professional sports.

Arden of Faversham * A Woman Killed with Kindness * The Witch of Edmonton * The English Traveller In about 1590, an unknown dramatist had the idea of writing a tragedy about the lives of ordinary people, instead of the genre's usual complement of kings and queens and politicians. His play, Arden of Faversham, inaugurated a new genre of 'domestic' drama, set in near-contemporary England and concerned with issues of marriage, crime, and property rather than war and power. Arden dramatizes a notorious murder case of forty years earlier, in which a wealthy husband was killed by his wife and her lover. In Thomas Heywood's A Woman Killed with Kindness, a wife is caught by her husband in bed with his best friend, only to find that he takes unusual reprisals. The Witch of Edmonton combines a true-life story of witchcraft with a fictitious tale of bigamy and wife-murder, and The English Traveller deals with the unexpected and unwelcome changes people find when they return home after a lengthy absence. Part of the Oxford English Drama series, this edition has modern-spelling texts; a critical introduction that outlines the way all four plays raise powerful and complex questions about the English society in which their tragic events unfold; wide-ranging notes; a chronology of the plays from their sources to recent performance; and appendices relating to two of the plays: who wrote Arden of Faversham and when did Heywood write The English Traveller. ABOUT THE SERIES: For over 100 years Oxford World's Classics has made available the widest range of literature from around the globe. Each affordable volume reflects Oxford's commitment to scholarship, providing the most accurate text plus a wealth of other valuable features, including expert introductions by leading authorities, helpful notes to clarify the text, up-to-date bibliographies for further study, and much more.

In the village of Edmonton, Elizabeth Sawyer is shunned by her neighbours. A poor and lonely old woman, she is harassed and accused of being a witch. In her abject misery, she wishes that she really were bewitched and so able to have her revenge. Unluckily for Elizabeth and the villagers of Edmonton, someone with the power to grant that wish is listening. First performed in 1621, The Witch of Edmonton was based by its authors Thomas Dekker, John Ford and William Rowley on a real-life case of a woman accused of witchcraft. The play was revived by the Royal Shakespeare Company as part of its 2014 Roaring Girls season, in the Swan Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon, directed by RSC Artistic Director Gregory Doran and with Eileen Atkins as Elizabeth Sawyer. This Prompt Book edition of the play features the text edited for the RSC production, and introductions by key members of its creative team, including Doran.

The Bloody Banquet is an early 17th-century play, a revenge tragedy of uncertain date and authorship, attributed on its title page only to "T.D." It has attracted a substantial body of critical and scholarly commentary, chiefly for the challenging authorship problem it presents. It has been attributed to a collaboration between Thomas Dekker and Thomas Middleton.
