Corporal Eric Gunton of the Royal Engineers, landed on Gold Beach
on 8 June 1944, carrying his camera into the aftermath of battle.
His photographs, though lost until 2005, are an evocation of life
in Normandy in the months after D-Day, seen through the eyes of an
Englishman who married a Frenchwoman and lived the rest of his
years in France.
A poignant description of one of Europe's most well known war
cemeteries. Based on interviews and personal experiences, this work
includes images, including photographs by Corporal Eric Gunton of
Number 32 Graves Registration Unit, who photographed the cemetery
as it took shape. Look out for more Pitkin Guides on the very best
of British and French history, heritage and travel.

Gary Busey stars in this biopic of Fifties rock 'n' roller Buddy
Holly, whose career was tragically cut short when he died in the
infamous 1959 plane crash. Holly grows up in the redneck Texan
community of Lubbock, and his dreams of making it as a songwriter
are discouraged by both his mother - who wants him to get a proper
job - and girlfriend. However, by the age of 22, Holly and his
band, the Crickets, have embarked on their road to fame with hits
such as 'That'll Be the Day' and 'Peggy Sue'.

Woody Harrelson plays a former bowling champ who lost his hand
thanks to double-crossing Bill Murray. Reduced to a small-time
hustler with a walnut-whip hairdo, Harrelson gets a chance to
improve his circumstances when he comes across talented Amish lad
Randy Quaid, and, together with the beautiful Vanessa Angel, they
head out to beat the now also dodgily-coiffed Murray in the
national bowling championship. From the same team that created
'Dumb and Dumber'.
