Coats Barbour Linen thread is ideal for conservation uses and is made using only the highest quality flax. The thread has a high tensile strength and doesn't stretch. It is used in bookbinding in the re-sewing of books in place of silk threads. It can be used for various other tasks, such as mounting and repairs. May be branded Coats, Campbell's or Crawford Threads (all Coat's brands).
